Ditch the Dryer Sheet

Dryer sheets are made of polyester fibers that are covered with fabric softeners and typically fragrance. The jury is out on whether or not the chemicals on dryer sheets are toxic, but I contend they create a ton of waste that is completely unnecessary. Because dryer sheets are made from polyester, which is a man-made material, it takes years to decompose in a landfill.

What’s the alternative? I use wool dryer balls. They do a great job of fluffing the laundry and I don’t have any issues with static. And, if I want to add a scent, I use lavender essential oil. I especially like using the lavender oil on my towels and sheets.

Here is a link to buy a set of wool dryer balls with the essential oils. If you make investment now, you will absolutely save money in the long run and help the planet.
