We should all try to buy organic whenever possible. However, there are times when we cannot. Whether it is due to financial reasons or availability. EWG (environmental working group) has compiled a list of the fruits and vegetables that have the highest levels of pesticides. They call this the dirty dozen. So if you are able to, always choose the organic version of the list below to help reduce exposure to toxic chemicals.
- Strawberries
- Spinach
- Kale, Collard greens, Mustard greens
- Nectarines
- Apples
- Grapes
- Cherries
- Bell and Hot peppers
- Peaches
